Hot in Prague

A really hot day in Prague.

We stayed in Slivenec on the outskirts of Prague in an orchard (Camp Slivenec). We went for a short bike ride around the local area but it was 33 degrees when we arrived on the Saturday, so even a short bike ride was exhausting. We decided it was best to take the tram into Prague the next day rather than using the bikes. The buildings in Prague are stunning and we enjoyed a few beers (and orange spritz ... which somehow seems to taste so good when sitting on cafe terraces in hot European cities). We walked up to the castle and cathedral on the hill. I've been in the cathedral before and it is definitely worth a visit ... not today though as it was closed for an event. Climbing the hill in the very hot sun, with a stop for water at 5 euros a bottle, was not in vain though as we were rewarded by the stunning view across the city from the castle walls.
