Leaving the British Isles

It's great to have the White Cliffs and a view across the channel to France as the launching pad for a European trip. We stayed at Kingsdown Camping in Deal, Kent - our third time and each time there's more facilities on offer - firepits, marshmallows, a rotisserie chicken shop - and a higher price for the night. The location is so good though, only 20 minutes drive to the Dover ferry terminal and on a lovely stretch of the Kent coast.

Setting our alarm for 2 am to watch/listen to Scotland vs Haiti meant we were a bit disorientated. Think we fell asleep before the end. Woke up in a panic and Garry reading his watch as 10:30 we started to hastily pack as we thought we needed to be at the ferry in about half an hour. After ten minutes, and noticing how quiet the campsite was, we established it was actually only 5am. So back to bed for some more kip.
